Rev. David Chestnutt founded and operates the Open Door Addiction Center in Delway, NC. It features ten beds and serves adult males who have exited detox but need a structured place to enter recovery from addiction of substances, including alcohol, crystal meth and opioids. Open Door Ministry of Delway, NC (Sampson County) welcomes all men who struggle with addiction but want a fresh start in life. Pastor David Chestnutt founded Open Door in the early 2000s and it takes calls from throughout NC. Open Door was featured on the NC Channel to help show how serious the Opioid Epidemic is in Sampson County.
Sean Dempsey explains Open Door Ministries, a place for men who are entering Recovery following addiction. Sean's story is one of success, recovery and now helping others.
This man says opioid addiction traps a person before they realize they've grown dependent, especially prescription painkillers. This conversation is part of the multi-facet story of North Carolina's Opioid Crisis being presented by The North Carolina Channel.
